Default Td04 Turbo

Ive been reading up on Turbo s2000's and turbo builds but I cant find any that use a Td04 or similar. Is it possible to install and run a td04 on the f22c safely? why hasn't it been done? and Is it harder to run successfully then more common s2k turbos?

I think you should ask the questions in the forced induction section. You'll probably get better responses.

The td04 turbo is far too small to pair with an engine that flows as well as the f-series. The Greddy kit uses the td05 and that's even too small (can't carry boost to red line). Read this....

the TD04 or SRT-4/wrx turbo is a small snail with a small breathing room. After 6000 rpms the turbo cannot keep up and the boost level drops. so it would be a beast if the s2k redlined at 6k.

basically this turbo falls off where our cars start making power

Way to small. I would venture to say, a gt3071 is the smallest I'd go on our engine.

Its a very small turbo and not something I would recommend. Not only that but the aerodynamics of the turbine and compressor are ancient and rather inefficient compared with modern units.

As everyone else said, it's a small turbo... It's a small turbo on a 2L WRX. A TD05/06 20G sized turbo would make for a fun car. Boost would likely still taper up top, depending how much boost you run, but the power band would make the car get up and go.
