S2000 Forced Induction S2000 Turbocharging and S2000 supercharging, for that extra kick.

And there went the headgasket!

Default And there went the headgasket!

So after only 1 day and a few pulls at 21 psi on the street, the 3mm headgasket just blew on me son of a bitch. Under boost, its filling my coolant overflow. The car isnt over heating, no smoke, and compression is still 195-198-199-198.

Gotta love this damn thing. Here is a pic of the headgasket.

Well I just paid $600 for tune so my options...

1. The correct way, replace it with a stock head gasket and re-tune it.
Maybe ARP head studs are to blame as well in this matter?

2. Replace the outer layers of the Inline pro headgasket plate and go about my business and hope it doesn't happen again.

Again, the ARP's obviously allowed the head to lift with 21 lbs of boost. Is there a better brand?

Sounds like you are detonating

You might want to talk with your tuner

Detonating on E85? Its uncommon but we'll see. I made 596hp on one of the runs so we added 1.5 degrees of timing and it made 610hp. That gain of 14hp doesnt tell me that it was past MBT for 21 psi but then again, im not a tuner.

22psi - At MBT im at 15deg, and after that its at 23 deg till redline.

go with stock hg.
you can make the same numbers on less boost.

Yes, I agreee that with E85 it would be harder to see detonation but as you aluded you are always shooting for most advanced timing you can get. So with a small change you can go too far, check out all of your fuel and timing trims and remember that it is not nessacarily the top end you see detonation you could be detonating in the midrange also.

Did you retorque the head after heat cycling, use KW Copper Coat or ARP studs?

Good luck

Well, this headgasket has been in here for 1500 miles and ran daily at 17 psi with my 5865 turbo. I JUST got tuned for 600hp and tada!!! there she goes.

Jeeeez!

I swear it has to be in the install, I used ARP studs, no copper spray, and have over 5000 miles on mine running 26psi + 94 octane and a lapping day!

Oh and I never heat cycled it either!

Still holding up great here!

What did you torque the nuts to? Did you use the supplied ARP moly lube?
