Default Thermal Coating Flaking

Has anyone ran into the issue of having their thermal coating flake on them? This weekend I'm planning on taking the manifold off and the exhaust side of my turbo to get coated. Did a few searches and it seems like a few Evo owners have had issues of flaking. Was planning on going with swaintech but now I'm a little apprehensive after seeing some issues and the fact it isn't cheap.

over time any of the coatings will start to flake. i have seen the swaintech stuff flake, i have had the full race stuff rust through(not sure if they do their stuff in-house or not). i usually just put about 8 coats of bbq high temp spray paint on the exhaust housing (unless of course its stainless). not sure if you are after the heat effect or just trying to stop the surface rust.

I'm trying to cool my bay. Friend is running a sidewinder and turbo blanket as well but after driving awhile a feeling both valve covers you could tell a difference in heat. Have everything wrapped up with reflective tape and nothing is melting. Trying to cool the bay. I'm assuming with the bay so hot my oil temps must be high too.

Phil how many miles would you guess? Could you tell a difference in bay temps? Swain is probably the way I'm going as well

D-Bo looks good. Pictures like those make me excited about shipping mine off.

I'd say about 3k mile with the coating. Yes I do notice a difference with the coating there how ever I also have my hood vented to help with bay temps
