Thinking about boosting...
I have been reading a lot and have not found what I am looking for. My dad has an S2K and is thinking about boosting it. I am trying to find out which kit would be best.
What I want from the kit is to be reliable, and good for street driving. The car will not be tracked or dragged just looking to add some reliable horsepower.
Also would it be better to go with a S/C kit for what I am looking to do?
What do you think and why? Best/cheapest place to buy?

Vortech or Comptech super charger. If you want more under the curve a geddy turbo kit is a good value, or the inline pro for a bit more. They will get you around 300hp, turbos give you more low end TQ. SC give you more divablility and are pretty much set right out of the box. Inline pro will give you the most all around perfmance and upgradablity but at a pric and you will need to change out many parts other than the kit and you will need to take it to get tuned.
I live in GA, and smog is not a problem because the county I am in does not require to have it.
So between the Greddy and 2 S/C kits which would be better suited for street for the the cash?
Cheapest place to buy?

The greddy will be a bit more to get set up but will be a more fun car to drive, and should feel a bit fast for daily driving. The SC should be easier to set up as a daily driver. Turbo cars just have more of a kick under the curve where the car is kinda slow, but the trade off is taking the time to get it set up with gauges exhaust and tuning. You will need to figure out how much time you will want to spend. 300hp turbo and a 300 hp sc car is not going to feel the same. A 300hp turbo and a 300hp SC are not going need the same set up.

Cheap is NEVER an option with an s2000. REMEMBER THAT!!!
if you buy anything forced Induction its gonna lead to getting a new clutch, a new clutch leads to other stuff. even if making 300hp the stock clutch will work but who knows for how long?? it could give out withing the month depending on how hard you drive or it could give out the moment you floor it. Don't go the cheap route...... going cheaply always ends up costing more then just dishing out the funds and getting it done RIGHT the first time. Get either a vortech/comptech s/c or the greddy kit. BUT with the greddy kit you will have to get it tuned and need an engine management. But with the s/c they are both bolt-on and go. All depends on your goals and how Reliable you want the car.. Don't go the cheap route, it will end up costing more then you originally wanted to spend

So the S/C does not need to be tuned?
I thought the Greddy kit came with fuel management?
So with the turbo I would gain more low end torque and the supercharger more top end?
Other than a clutch what else need to be upgraded? How much extra cash should I expect to spend minus the kit?
I have installed 3 JRSC kits before and a couple turbo kits before on several Civics with swap. Would a turbo kit for this be that much more difficult? A weekend job?
