Id go with the basic InlinePro kit. Very reliable kit, not super expensive. Well worth the extra few bucks over the greddy kit. Comparing the IP kit to greddy is like comparing apples to oranges. Not even close to the same level.

IP kit is also better because WHEN yes, WHEN you want more power you can easily upgrade it for little money such as add a headgasket and turn the boost up and retune. Where as with a greddy kit you would need to change out a lot more then just that. You need to replace much more expensive things to support higher HP. I say when because you will always want a little more.

Go with the InlinePro kit. you wont be disappointed.

http://www.inlinepro.com/

go to turbo kits, then click on S2000 turbo kit.

Keep in mind this comes with no engine management, fuel injectors, gauges, tune, exhaust and other misc parts you will need.
I doubt you will stay below 6500 by the time your car is up and running, even on stock exhaust. You definately won't if you don't do all of the install yourself.
You need to do a lot of research before you buy anything.

I wish Inline Pro would come out with a turn key kit, like the Greddy. I lot of people would want it.

I would get the s/c; sounds like you want something relatively simple.

I went the ILP route for my 2005 car and with alot of shipment problems(mostly swedish customs being pricks), one inexperienced tuner, installation of boost control, a new clutch, another session at a better tuner etc. It ended up at about $10-11k.

Alot of people told me to be prepared to spend more than initially planned, and they were right ofcourse.
If I was gonna go for boost and had $6500, I would go for a kraftwerks high boost kit or the science of speed mentioned in the previous post.

Right now I am in the planning stage for turboing my 2008 car, and will probably use some of the pieces I had in my older car, the gt3076 turbo for example. A new kit is also an option, but there doesn't seem to be any supporting my car atm.

If you are absolutely SURE you will NEVER want to upgrade and you will be happy with a quick daily driver, i would get a S/C system with your budget.....if i could go back and start all over, that is what i would do.

the S2000 is extremely expensive and has poor drivetrain components for lots of power, but can be really fun to drive at around 350-400 whp.

well i had 470whp and i do drag my car....i broke 2 transmissions at the line when i dropped the clutch and i busted a rear end at the line...i broke a 3rd tranny just being a dumb ass..lol

but if he is not going to track and the OP just plans on driving and not dumping the clutch and stuff like that...400whp will be plenty fast
