Default Thinking about going FI

MY04 has a rebuilt title. I've owned it since 24k miles - now 160k. I put this car up for sale this past summer (The car is obviously not pristine, but in good condition with a few dings here or there) & was amazed at how many people were willing to pay $10k for the car. This is the price I bought the car for 13 years ago. So I took it down to think about what I want to do. This is not my DD. I also have a 05 MDX & an 06 gsxr 750. I went down on the bike pushing in a corner over the summer, which was definitely scary. I wear gear so just had some small scrapes. Riding the bike is an incredible experience that I don't really want to give up, but risk/reward is an obvious question. However, when the weather is nice there is no question which one I'm taking out...hence why I put the S up for sale. Selling the bike along with some money I have on the side could fund my move to FI, which is something I had wanted when I originally bought the car. I've done the research for years & understand $10k+ is expected, then not to mention inevitable issues that pop up. Realistically, I think an engine this old is probably going to give up the ghost at some point. I obviously plan on tuning being paramount & just trying to push 400ish whp, no launching or driving that is hard on the diff or trans. Then again I know that after a while it won't be enough & I'll want to mod for more power. Never been in boosted s2k, but I'm looking for that incredible acceleration like I have with the bike, without the life risk associated. I do want to enjoy it for a few years, turn it back to stock & sell it because of the obvious appreciation in value. This timeline is fluid as I do not like any performance cars out there that I could buy outright. Not having car payments is great, & I want hold onto that as long as possible. Also, the S in itself is an experience stock that I love. I've driven plenty of cars that are much faster but the feel isn't nearly as precise or solid. You all know.

I'm curious about those of you that have gone FI, love it, or regret it. What are the headaches I should expect? I have a feeling at some point I'll have to build the motor.

Supercharge and leave as is. Reliable, fun, keeps S2000 character with a slight increase in maintenance.

Turbocharge if you want to bring all the boys to the yard. Maybe smoke some supercars, meet the maker or safely enjoy a 2-step at car meets without it taking a toll and damaging your supercharger.

Originally I was thinking of SOS SC kit but for the reasons you said, but with that kind of power, the first time I lose to a car that is fairly quick, I'm going to want to turbo it. While I do like the s2000s character, going turbo makes it such a sleeper.

Yeah, I was going to budget engine rebuild bc it's inevitable. The weakest part is going to break, & that is what I'm trying to avoid with the tranny & diff...at first at least.
