Those with a Vortec SC
I'm considering a Vortec SC for my MY06 and my question is:
In normal driving situations such as traffic or just daily driving, when you guys rolling on the throttle at what rpm do you notice any kind of extra power/torque? Note this is not reving to redline or jamming through the gears, just normal driving. (if there is such a thing with an S2k
)
Example, on my way to work and home I usually shift between 4-5k rpms and then either ride in 4th or 5th gear depending on traffic (several redlights). At these rpms, is any kind of extra torque and power that noticable? Would I be able to notice any extra power/torgue when I roll on the throttle?
Thanks for any info on your experiences!
Cheers
Jason

i drove my friend's stock ap2 around a parking lot, and i thought something was wrong with the motor.
oh yeah, i have a comptech with a high boost pulley. i'm sure you'd notice a more pronounced difference if you upgrade the pulley on the vortech blowers.

if you want something that gives power everywhere, try static x motorsports roots intercooled blower kit.
this was on 6psi, and yes you will feel this everywhere. at 2k rpm i have 4psi, at 3krpm i have 5psi

and this is with vtec at 4700

Or PM Mark (MugenRioS2k) he is the beta tester/tuner for the kit.

Cool thanks a lot for the info guys!
BTW I have considered SOT's and have not ruled it out, however I like where the VT can go power wise and the compact-ness(wtf) of the kit.
I was just curious about the power/torque as on a daily basis the above description is about the extent of my driving excitement.

i had a vortech on my 99 civic SI. and i loved how it felt. feels all motor. just fast as hell! the down low torque was great. i could imagine how good the S would feel!! go for it.
but now i wanna turbo this car. SC is fun for sure!
