The kraftwerks highboost kit might be a good choice for you. It gives a noticable increase in TQ even as low as 3k rpms. I make 4psi by 5000 rpms.

I'm considering a Vortec SC for my MY06 and my question is:

In normal driving situations such as traffic or just daily driving, when you guys rolling on the throttle at what rpm do you notice any kind of extra power/torque? Note this is not reving to redline or jamming through the gears, just normal driving. (if there is such a thing with an S2k )
The answer is yes.

Your car will feel a lot more responsive even at low rpm's. For an even more noticable difference go for a roots type blower as suggested above.

i had to rack my brain as to which i would get... a sc or turbo, i went turbo cuz i know turbo's. i was hitting 9 psi full boost around 3700 psi. and it wasnt like an off and on switch.. it was smooth.. all the way to redline. that was with a 50 trim t3/t4 bb turbo. the graph was so straight you could write your name on it thinking it was a sc..

I have owned both ap1 and ap2. I now have a VT SC ap2. There is a nice difference that you can feel below VTec. The gearing of the AP2 adds to that effect. Now the temps are cold, my tires break lose through all of first and second. That is something you will feel when driving around town

The great thing about the vortech is that it takes the same power dilevery as stock and improves it, although the better improvements are when the revs climb.

I am still very happy with my VT kit after 2 years.

Im very happy with the Vortech kit.
Put it this way. VT designed the kit for DD cars and there are a number of people on here that DD their VT cars. Vortech has be out longer then most of these other smaller company's making kits. Also VT make the same power with OEM quality then the other competition. They have very great technical support and warranty. If anything goes wrong most of the parts are made at Vortech. They offer rebuild service if the blower ever goes out. 50 state carb legal. you can upgrade the kit if you need more kick later on.
THEY BEEN IN THE GAME FOR A LONG TIME.
