Default For those of you with Greddy Profec series BCs

Well before I send my entire unit back due to a bad solenoid (I think), I want to be completly sure that it is the solenoid and not just the way it is wired.

For an external wastegate setup, the manuel says for the COM port to go to the wastegate and the NC port to go to the boost source. When I have the vacuum lines wired that way, my wastegate will NOT open at all (when it should open to the spring psi) however when I stick my manuel boost controller back on, it works perfectly fine.

Now being curious, I decided to test the solenoid out by myself just blowing through the holes. If I blow through the NC hole, it is blocked completly which I guess is why it doesn't open the wastegate. If I blow through the COM hole, I feel air coming out the NO port. If this is the case, why the hell do the instructions say to go through the NC port when, common sense tells me, to hook it up to the NO port that obviously sends air to the COM port????

For the record, the manuel says to hook up the NO port and COM port when using a actuator style system (not external wastegate).

So I guess my main question is, for those of you who have this darn thing actually working, how are the ports on your solenoid set up with the vacuum lines?

Thanks,
Jonathan

I think I found my problem. The picture in the directions has a pretty big mess up that would fool anyone. Apparently the boost controller attaches to the TOP of the wastegate despite what the picture in the manuel shows...Getting up early to go to NAPPA to get some vacuum line and test out the new configuration. We'll see what happens.
