Throttle body size for SCs
Ive found very few helpful posts. Im looking to up the boost to probably 9, possibly 10 lbs on my Comptech (non aftercooled, soon to be aftercooled) and was wondering what size throttle body would be most efficient/effective for the SC. I see 3 sizes on Evasive's site - 70, 72 and 74mm. Does size really matter? When is it TOO big? (I kno theres a joke in there somewhere) At what size does the maf sensor need to be upgraded, if at all??
Thanks.
Thanks.
from using the search function i was able to find that the max you can port the intake manifold without cutting into coolant passages is 68mm.if you are not planning on porting the intake manifold you will need a taper port.you need something like this http://www.scienceofspeed.com/products/exh..._throttle_body/
after reading about porting the im and tb i am working planning on doing the porting myself.sos says they made 12hp,im sure with a ported 70mm to 68mm tb and 68mm im i should make 12+ and im running twice the amount of boost.
