Tial 44mm + Mac solenoid connections
Hey guys been looking for the way to hook them up.. Came across a good thread with some nice info.

Just wanted to know which one to go by. Port 3 on solenoid vented to atmosphere or recirculated?
Also it says on the wastegate instructions to connect air to the intake manifold which is confusing because in that diagram where the Mac solenoid is hooked up it doesn't also go to the intake manifold.
And lastly I have a haltech platinum 1000 anyone have the diagram on how to wire up the Mac solenoid?
Thanks!
Manny.

I have the PTuning kit, KPro with a Mac Solenoid and 45mm turbosmart wastegate. I have mine hooked up like this:

Port 3 vented to atmosphere.
Hope fully getting it tuned within the next month or so.
The port on the turbo compressor housing (in the pic above) should see (vac/boost) what the intake manifold is seeing.

You should place a filter on port 3 like the following pic:

None of the connections need to go to the intake manifold. From the turbo, T the connection (1 line going to port 1, the other going to the bottom wastegate port). Port 2 will connect to the top of the wastegate.

Your boost solenoid should have came with a filter.

Quick question to save time and money I will install the spring(s) in the wastegate.. What spring should I use? I am planning on running around 22psi as of 3rd gear.
Thinking of what to cap my boost at in 1st & 2nd any suggestions?

I believe convention dictates that your spring pressure should be at least half of your total boost goal.

I thought that using the port on the turbo for a Mac solenoid was a no no. Most people seem to tell me that a vacuum source from the manifold is needed to have accurate and consistent boost. I guess this may be due to the possible pressure lose from the IC piping and IC. I'm hooking my Mac solenoid up this weekend, good info in here.
