Default Tial Q on SOS stage 2?

I've seen people do this but they weld a bigger flang on the aftercooler. Would it be counter productive to mount 1 inch to 1.5 tubing from the aftercooler to the bov?

Nope. I did it, and it works great with my greddy rs. That way you dont modify a great looking aftercooler.

Do you have any flutter? Reason I am going with Tial is because they have a 3psi supercharger spring that would act just like the sos bov

it cant act "just like the sos" since the sos supplied unit is a VW bypass valve and the seat is mega weak.

I do not have flutter or anything like that. i removed the smaller spring and left only the large spring in the diaphragm housing. i set the spring pre-load via the adjustment screw ontop so that the valve is wide open at 18+ vac, starts to close at about 13 vac, and is fully closed at 10. in that aspect, it is similar in function to the VW bypass valve as i measured its closing-to-vac ratio to be similar.

the main benefit you get from running a larger bov/bpv is: when under vac and mid-upper rpms, you get a better blow off or "purge" which puts less stress on the compressor and thus less stress on your engine to turn that compressor for better fuel mileage when cruising at highway speeds.

...plus it sounds cool.

can you post a picture of your BOV and after cooler?

im confused on what you guys are talking about, i just ordered a tial with 3psi spring and was wondering how you were talking about mounting it without adding a new flange

^that works, but for the sake of the bov discharging more air than the tiny VW unit, you should use a 1.5" adapter and a 1"-1.5" hps silicone 90.

no point in running a larger valve if you are going to expel the same amount of air.

Bumping an old(ish) thread. Been researching the Tial Q for my CTSC and found one for a great price here: http://www.vrspeedfactory.com/tial-q...-q2bkq2bk.html

That is specifically for the black color and 2 psi spring, but they have other colors and spring ratings available. Bought on Monday and received on Wednesday. Also had good quick communication with a sales rep there. Just wanted to share the deal.
