What's needed to attach this BOV to the standard SOS aftercooler?

I'm guessing I just need the appropriate flange welded onto the aftercooler box?

Cheers

My bad guys I hadn't seen the videos I got a little excited when I saw them Online.

Good videos though.

OP did you find a huge difference with and without the diffuser on the BOV? Does it deaden the sound or just make it more of swoosh kinda noise? May get this for my kit.

@ Picturepro - why did you have to weld on a 1.5" port rather than using their 1inch flange option with a hose to avoid modification?

BOV will only flow as much as the smallest opening. So now I have 38mm in and out. I've driven a couple times now with it venting to
the engine bay, its tolerable noise. I can always order the 38mm out pipe and attach a rubber hose to the ground or wheel well.

Do you think using the qrj with its 1" hose inlet option would vent out enough air on a SOS system with anywhere around 14-15 psi? About to order one and I'd like to prevent any modding of the aftercooler if possible but if I'll get a lot of surge because it can't vent enough from the 1" hose option, I'll have to mod it.

Only 1 way to really find out for sure. I will be around the same when I do this but as I have owned my S for 14 years now I don't think I have to worry about the re-sale issue of the kit being dragged down by modding the aftercooler.

Only concern is you probably won't get the surge till you are at the very top end and how much surge is necessary to be noticeable vs how much surge is necessary to compromise seals. My thought is if you are THAT far into this kit going 14-15 PSI....go with the full size vent size and don't risk it. My $0.02

I just purchased this should be coming this thursday and I will install it this weekend, but I also emailed Tial to see if I can get the 1.5lb spring.

Did you switch the springs and notice a difference? Which one do you prefer?

I bought my car used, I just went with the 1" inlet, I will just run it how it is and decide to swap it out later, I can probably weld the 1.5" but then I don't see any use of it at the moment because the kit was made with a 1" so I just figured that it would be ok but I know the 1.5" is a better option and I can get it welded at work but too lazy lol
