Default tighten the belt on a Comptech

My boost is back down to around 4.8 psi (stock pulley). A few weeks ago, my boost was around 4.3, so I brought my car to my installer who tighten the belt. After that, boost was up to 5.3 at redline in 4th gear. Over the last week and a half, my boost had been declining. It's now at 4.8 at redline. I first thought it may have been due to the increase temps (upper 80's to upper 90's), but I ran my car first thing in the morning and late evening with the same results.

My tuner is quite busy and can't get me in, plus I'd like to learn how to do it myself. Can I tighten the belt myself? I know I would just loosen the tensioner bolt (think it's located just to the left lower corner), and then use a closed end wrench to yank on the tensioner. Would I be able to hold the tensioner tight enough AND still tighen the bolt? Or, do I need someone to help me?

Btw, my belt does goe a little past 90*.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

I'd like to know the answer to this one too.

BTW, who/where is your tuner?

ModaCar in Livermore installed my SC. They did a good job, and the tech is very helpful...busy, but helpful. They work on a lot of Elise's there. Know that Boosted Elise featured in a couple of tuner mags? Well, that's theirs.

Where are you located? Maybe we can have a FI tech day / gtg. I'd like to get a few others FI S2K for a dyno day.

You can def do it alone. There are 2 bolts you you gotta stick a big ass pry bar in there and pull while you tighten them.

Which two bolts? Think you can take a pic and point it out? I thought there was just one bolt? Thanks!

Btw, have you got your sc all worked out?

I'll take pics later tonight. One bolt should be black and you can clearly see it once you take off the airbox and the other one is like behind and under the SC but you can still get to it pretty easily. Its not hard at all to do.

I almost have everything figured out, just gotta take it off 1 more time and then I'm done.

You only need to loosen the bottom one of the three bolts along the left side of the bracket. Use your prybar, have ratching wrench ready, tighten in place, torque, remove prybar.

Nick was correct... much easier doing it with the airbox out. I can't do it any other way.

Thanks for the input. Hope to see the pics later so I can definitely know, don't want to screw anything up.

How big / small should the pry be? Do I place it right under the tensioner? My installer used another closed end wrench...don't know where he placed it though.

Someone should do a FAQ on this one.

Thanks in advance!

I used to do it with a bigish flat blade screw driver. It doesn't require much force.
