Definitely stay away from a thicker head gasket!

Why? Most of these turbo stock block S2k's I've seen are running a 2mm Cometic hg to help bring the compression ratio down a bit.

Most go back to stock hg shortly after the thicker gasket blows. Do a little research on it and you will see why hardly anyone uses them anymore on here.

They blow even with headstuds? If so, that sucks, and I'll stick with oem.

With stock hg, studs, good tune and pump gas, you are limited to ~ 450/15 psi before you get detonation. Headstuds don't diminish detonation.

I'm running 14 psi stock hg no problems. you should be fine. And I'll also suggest you stay away from a thicker head gasket

Glad to know this. What kind of numbers? As long as I can make 400-420whp I'll be happy as a clam... And that's pretty happy.
