they said that it was to tight and that they called inline pro. inline pro said you have to mess with the tensioner guide. they confimed that it was the tensioner guide and are working it today. will keep posted.

yeah i know the s2k's dont have probs with there chains. that was the first thought in my mind is that it was to tight.
I ran the 3mm gasket for a while and never had to mess w/ the tensioner either.
The chain was tight yes, but nothing crazy where you can't bolt down the timing gear or tensioner.

Also, make sure they clock the cam gear before they re-install it. The 3mm HG has altered the deck height of the head, and the gear must be clocked to compensate.

honestly... i think your the first person in the entire s2k community to have a broken timing chain. I think they are bullsh!ting you, or they broke it and are trying to blame it on you. our cars are too god-like to have something like that broken. would you say...you trust your shop?
Mine broke early this spring.

Installed my Laskey head, using the TCT the seller included. TCT was bunk, never heard it start going bad over my exhaust, and snapped my timing chain.

Installed new timing chain (<1.5hr work, ), old TCT that had 110k miles on it, and I'm back on the road.

Luckily no head parts were damaged.

Just make sure the TCT is retracted when you re-install it, and its going to be tight when you put it in (thats what she said).
