im gonna do it this way, theres no negative to the setup. its perfect and will look pretty slick with some an lines.

I've done it this way with a mase turbo kit and it has done fine for a year now. Its just a drain at the end of the day. Just need to make sure where ever it is that it doesn't have a chance to back up and this timimg cover spot is great. Alot easier to check for leaks and i used alot less heat wrap thats for sure.

It's quite easy, you can actually do it without removing the head gasket but you'll need to drop the oil pan instead. Then do a good job with the sealant when you re-assemble it to be sure it doesn't leak. I did one just last week for a friend.

I don't see what the problem is with taping the pan instead but to each their own.

Why not pull oil from the pressure switch? That's where mine comes from, location is great as it's out of the way and keeps the hose just 6 inches long or less in my case.
