Default Total Cost

Im totalling up how much total I would spend to get boosted the way that I want to. Please let me know if I am leaving anything out or if my pricing on anything looks wrong (for better or worse).

Thanks for any comments!

Turbo Kit - $6100
Turbo Kit Install - $1500
Competition Clutch Stage 4 - $700
Clutch Install - $500
AEM EMS with UEGO - $1500
Tune - $1000
RC 750cc Injectors - $400
Hawker Battery - $100
InlinePro 3mm Headgasket - $300
ARP Head Studs - $150
Headgasket & Head Stud install - $600
Walbro 255lph fuel pump - $125

Total - $12975

BTW...I might be doing the install on most of the stuff, but I am just trying to get a total rough cost if not.

I forgot about the fuel pump. I would need that. I was looking at the Full-Race ProStreet Stage 3 GT kit. Would I need to buy a map sensor or FRP for that?

Thanks!

Depends on how much boost you plan on running. I believe most people say ~10psi is about the most you can run on the stock map sensor. Not sure how much boost you can run before needing a fuel pressure regulator but I would guess you will probably need one if you plan on running any more than 10psi. I'm sure someone else can chime in with more specifics on this.

You would save a ton of money if you would do the install by yourself. If you do not feel comforable, if you have a friend who is automotive mechanically inclined you can do it with him. I was hesitant of putting my own blower on at first, but then after all was said and done I was glad I did it myself.

oh yeah, you probably also want some method of controlling boost, either an AEM boost control solenoid or an electronic or manual boost controller. Unless you just want to go off your wastegate spring.

I might do it myself. It would be cool to have Geoff at Full-Race put it in, but if the price is stupid, I will do it with a friend. I did the turbo swap, injectors, fuel pump, etc. on my old STi and have put a Greddy kit on an RSX-S, so I am not worried about doing it with friends.

Im probably going to run between 11-13 pounds, so would I need an FRP and/or aftermarket map sensor? If so, can someone please link me to a good aftermarket one?

Thanks!

Does the AEM EMS not control the boost?

It can control boost, but you would need to add the AEM boost control solenoid if you want it to do that.

I went with the AEM 3.5 bar map sensor and the AEM FPR. There's also a GM 3 bar map sensor that many people use. And there's tons of FPR's out there that will work.

i am a little over 10,000 with my turbo setup i went with inlinepro EVERYTHING . at first i started to put together my own kit. then i crunched the numbers and i realized that inlinepro was the way to do it! If i were you i would consider saving some cash by buying used parts like AEM EMS. Also if you can find a good shop to instal everything at once they may cut you a deal on the final cost! good luck to you!
