Default Track days while supercharged - Questions

I am up in the air between buying a faster car or possibly supercharging my S. I do do a few trackdays during the summer though. Most of the trackdays around here are 20 minute sessions for a total of one hour of driving per event. Will a SOS Stage 2 kit, say 350-400whp be alright for 20 minutes without overheating?

I'm willing to do a bigger radiator, oil cooler, SOS heat exchanger if needed, but not much past that. I really don't want to be scared about oil and coolant temps when I'm trying to have fun on track.

Thanks!
-Dustin

Rock solid. My buddy (vandieman) has been tracking the same setup you mention for 3 years now. He runs it hard and pretty frequently. I also have the same setup and track occasionally without any problems in 3 years. In July this year when I ran roll races pretty much all day in 102 to 105 degree temps, I had no issues. I even had ac on between races and didn't pop the hood to cool down like the other cars...IAT and ECT all stayed consistent even though I could feel a little heat soak after noon but so did all the other cars.

The only thing you absolutely need is the larger heat exchanger. I don't have an oil cooler and the radiator is stock.

I had my comptech N1000 with a large heat exchanger, anda 3.2 pulley (12psi). I wouldn't last a 15min session without both oil temps and coolant temps getting hot. I did have a stock radiator though.

I'm now turbocharged (9psi) with a v-mount, and and it runs much much cooler than when i was supercharged. But the v-mount+dualpass radiator+running E85 might have something to do with that as well.

I have the Novi 1200 and larger heat exchanger running on E85 in Sweden.
Do you guys think I need a oil cooler for 15min sessions on track?

I just read coolant temp through my AEM Series 2 which feeds the info to a serial gauge. My oil temp sensor is installed in the drain plug - just drill & tap it.

Thanks guys, I keep reading threads on Supercharged tracking but none of them are really clear if they are doing sessions or 1 hour at a time or what is going on.

So heat exchanger, bigger radiator, oil cooler and I should be good?

Cool..

To clarify I'm in eastern PA, so hottest days are 90 degrees ambient. Most days are 80s and a lot in 70's ambient.
