I was putting down around 330 whp last year with a turbo and it was perfectly controllable with a good set of 255 street tires.

I think most people assumed you were talking turbo because you started to throw around 450hp and i dont know of many SC cars making 450hp. Not saying they arent out there but there is a ton more turbo cars making 450+ opposed to SC Which is why everyone posted responces about TC shoulda specified.

[quote name='s2kfrog' date='Jan 8 2009, 01:45 PM'] I agree, it is funny how everyone assumes turbo sorry not to clarify... I am leaning towards S/C most likely kraftwerkz. However, I was curious to this question for turbo cars as well.

255's seem to be about as wide as you can go on most of the mainstream aftermarket wheel offsets that are affordable and most available. There is some wider deeper offset wheels out there which would alow you to run up to 285's that I have seen, but those wheels are also very expensive 3 piece type at $1000+ per wheel. A good sticky 255 should be resonable enough for up to 375-450whp without being to problematic. Trq curve does play a factor as well as tire compound. SC will hold better overall... but could catch you off guard as you reach max power/redline which is always exciting

Supercharger + gears is also an option that will effect your ability to hold traction.

Just some numbers to look at .

I currently have 240wt starting at 2000 all the way to redline with 330whp peek ( clutch is slipping a lot)

If the car is stripped to 2500lbs using a 4.44 rear gear with a 275 tire( 12.8 radius) your mean Acceleration force at the contact patch is

1st 1.28g

i maybe going in the wrong direction here, but why dont people run boost per gear

i have boost per gear and its so much better than it was before when it was just 20 psi across the lot

i only ever have issues with traction if its cold ie really cold as it is in the uk at the moment and in very bad wet conditions

anyway sorry if i have got the wrong end of the stick
