Default Tranny grind

Right now I'm on ap1 wheels which obviously aren't that wide. Tires are like new (hankook) If I'm WOT with the new supercharger in 1st gear and vtec engages the tires start spinning immediately (I obviously need wider tires)but my question is... as of right now in that scenario if I try to shift quickly into 2nd gear the tranny will make a grind noise and doesn't want to go into a gear... If I do the same scenario and shift slow it doesn't have any issues.

I know my tranny is in good shape because prior to this I babied it. clutch was recently replaced.

What would be the reason for that? Is it because I'm
Not grabbing traction when I'm trying to shift?

Common problem for ALL s2k's . There are many threads about this . Change the fluid in the trans and adjust the clutch rod to take up some slack . I have found that fresh fluid in the trans helps the most . Also make sure the clutch pedal is on the floor BEFORE you pull the shifter out of 1st gear .

1-2 are the weakest gears I believe. My buddy has kraftswerks on his ap2 and raced from digs. Never had problem until IFO couple weeks ago. f@#ked up his clutch lol

Haha that sucks^^^

I actually just replaced diff and tranny fluid a week ago too. I might try the clutch adjustment. Do you need to remove the pin or just loosen the 12mm bolt when you do the adjustment? Should I adjust it to where there's 0 play? Right now I probably have 1/4 inch of play right now

Check your clutch resevoir and make sure it's full. 2nd gear is the weakest and plenty of boosted s2ks destroy that gear. Be careful

No need for removing the cotter pin . Just loosen the lock nut and then turn the rod with your fingers . Be careful not to make it too tight or you will fry the clutch .
