turbo boost controller question
I think i may get the greddy kit for my ap1 and i wanted to know if like you 100% needed a boost controller, im gonna get it retuned using the emanage it comes with at a local place what i want to know is if i could run it at 9 psi without a boost controller. sorry if thats a dumb question lol
So like you cant turn up the boost at all using just e-manage? thats basically what im trying to figure out it seems its a no lol. i just want to be able to get close to the 300whp mark when i get my kit i dont think 7 psi is gonna do me justice with the greddy

You need a Boost controller to get anything above the wastegate spring pressure. If WG is 7PSI you will get 7PSI you need a controller to turn it up, the E-Manage will not do this for you. (nor will any other EMS) With the GReddy kit you will need to run around 11-12 PSI to achieve 300WHP. If you have a Catalytic Converter or a stock exhaust, don't expect anything over 280WHP. (If that) If you are planning to run more than 10 PSI buy a new MAP sensor now. Unless you want to pay for another tune.
i would say you need it. anything can happen and you want to have access to control it for variables if or when needed.
if youre iffy about spending money on a boost controller, just pick up a cheap mechanical boost controller. They do they job fine for what you'll be working with.... you can get fancier later.
(im selling a manual boost controller in my fs thread on my sig by the way)
good luck
