I think I might need to use one of those maps for my 1000cc setup, if you don't mind.

Ok guys, I have some good news, some bad news, and some crappy news.

I'll start with the crappy news - my laptop is SCREWED. At first, the audio out jack broke, but I could deal with that because I use an mbox2 for an external sound card. Today, the AC jack inside the computer cracked and I cannot charge my laptop. I'm very pissed and now need to find someone who knows how to work on laptops.

The bad news is, the SRT4 that was scheduled to tune at 10:00 am, didn't get off the dyno until 5:30 because he had a lot of boost leaks and problems and they had to finally ask him to step down because I had been waiting since 2:00. They strapped me on, and we instantly had problems. The car was having all kinds of problems. We were having a hard time starting the car without the stock map sensor as the GM one just wasn't allowing the car to turn over. We got it on the dyno and finally did get it to start, and after an hour of tuning, the car just would not boost, or boosted only a little.

After the first hour, it only made 132 rwhp at 3psi of boost on the low cam. The vtec cam wouldn't engage and the timing was all screwed up. We were stumped, and my stomach was turning over. Finally, we popped the valve cover and noticed that one of the cam gears was a tooth off so we fixed that. Still, the car wouldn't hit VTEC and was only hitting in the 130s. I was growing very, very scared, as the turbo was just not spooling. Finally, my tuner checks all the couplers and finds the driver's side coupler from the IC to the charge pipe was not connected as one of the tbolt clamps busted off. We put that on, and tried again...

The car was boost spiking, and acting funny. By this time it was around 8:30 and I was getting a little upset as I was hoping to drive my car home and NOT have to pay a ton of money to fix what was happening. My tuner then took the manual boost controller off (he said he hated MBC's anyway) and just ran off the wastegate spring... A-Ha!!!!

So we tried once more... but they said they could only stay until 9:00 as the shop closed at 6:00 and were only doing this because the previous car took so long and they felt bad for me having to wait around all day.

My tuner did a couple of pulls, and I could already see that this car was going to make a SHIT LOAD of power. We only tuned the car for 7 pounds off the WG spring, and called it a night.

We ended up with 351rwhp@8700 rpms on 7psi and 9:1 compression!!!!!

LoveFab manifolds are pretty sick, eh?

Just so you all know, this is far from over. I need to get some new tbolt clamps and a boost control solenoid as we're just going to use the EMS to control boost, but I'm going back in this coming Tuesday and I'm set on 15psi. I'm thinking that my original estimate of 450 rwhp might be a tad too small

Well, I can't stay around for long, I've waited 8 months since I bought my first turbo kit and now I finally have it on... so I'm going to go drive it some!

A HUGE THANK YOU to everyone here on the S2KI Forced Induction forums, you've all been a gigantic help and I could not have done this without you all.

Individual thanks to PRS2K for helping me with all my early turbo questions, Timg for sending me two RC1000cc injector maps and offering his assistance to me over the phone, my two installers Matt and Michael, especially Michael who took a day off of work today and came with me to the dyno and stayed the entire time to make sure that everything went smoothly, and to all the guys at Mainstream Performance, especially Turbo Dave my tuner.

See you all soon, keep boosting

Sorry to hear about all the problems, and very glad to see you got her up and running! 351rwhp @ 7 psi? Very nice! Was this on a dynojet or dynapack? I can't wait to here the final results!

Sweet! Are you saying that at stock compression you wouldn't have made the same amount of power at the same psi?
