Default Turbo choice

I'm looking for around 420-450whp for now on bone stock block to keep me happy for now. Maybe build the block later when it blows. I want a fast spool and good midrange. Curently I have a GT35R 0.63 ar turbine. I'm thinking if the 3076R 0.82 would suit my setup better. Shall I swap the GT35R?

I agree, i am using the 3076R .82 and it will spool in the 4000-4500 range. The 35R will spool in the 5000-5500 range. The 35R will be a better topend turbo but the 30R will have a large midrange advantage for sure.

Even the GT3071R would come close to those numbers. I do like the GT3076R with a 0.82 a/r turbine housing though. It all depends on how much lag you are willing to accept and how efficient your setup is.

As I would not need to be running too much boost on the 35R to get to 430whp+ for now I figured that it might be a little 'oversized' for what I need right now... I also don't want to have to deal with boost creep that may occur, at least with the 3076 I won't have to bleed off so much boost..

Tim, at what rpm are you fully spooled by and at what psi?

I too am waiting to finish my setup. I have a GT3076R .82AR as well. I opted to go with this because I wanted the midrange power and with my setup should be able to support 500whp. If you really want a very responsive turbo you could do the GT3071R... I think with either you will be happy.

Full boost by 4k rpm (I think this was something like 7 psi) Note that higher levels of boost arrive later (I think 16 psi was around 4500 rpm) and boost also hits later in lower gears.
