I have an 07 and i was thinking/ still am thinking about turboing my car through a custom kit with a gt35r. However, a few problems is:
Cons:
1. HEAT.... Some say turbos can be tracked but most people are not comfortable with doing this. Personally i am not either. Even with a aftermarket oil cooler if a line fails yours screwed.
2. DOWNTIME: I use my car as a DD so if anything happens your talking about a big downtime where i have no car.
3. GAS mileage: Yes staying out of boost you probbly will get just a little worse mileage but with boost expect it to drop alot. I know a sti buddy who puts down 500 whp and only gets 14 mpg. IF you go with a supercharger, kraftwerks said with the low boost kit they got better than stock mpg.
Pros:
1. low and high boost tunes: You can change your boost on the fly with a boost controller and only use your high boost when needed.
2. FUN FUN FUN.... i sat in a 400 whp turbo and it is insanely fun.
3. cheaper than supercharger.
4. More down low torque than a supercharger.
