Default Turbo Questions

Im thinking of turboing my S if it doesnt sell over the winter so my questions to everyone are the following...

I want to make around 400-450 hp at high psi, is there a kit out there that is reliable for daily use and that is pretty much bolt-on?

Ive looked at a few sites for turbo kits such as greddy, inline-pro, and a few superchargers as well. Which is a better power adder when it comes to everyday use and power?

Is it cheaper to buy a kit or to build a custom one?

Is there a setup out there that anyone is running that they absolutely love and would recommend to everyone. All the way from which kit --> which exhaust and so on?

Im looking for any kind of information and I am relatively new to turbos and supercharger setups so please post any information good or bad. I have searched for some information but I see every setup is basically different.

i was going to say mase, ptuning or inline pro. i recommend staying away from the cheaper turbo kits (revhard, godspeed- anything by an ebay company lol)
it is cheaper to buy a good kit than to try and make a crappy kit better.

Full Race/Inline Pro/Mase/Pfab with a GT30. I don't know why people here continue to push Precision Turbos, their failure rate is quite high.............

What's wrong with the GODSPEED kits?

yeah, I agree with the posts above, the new gt30 looks like the best turbo for the car going forward. I would also stay away from sending money to anyone looking to build you a kit aka the peakboost.

What car are you gonna buy if you sell the S2000?

i actually toyed with the idea of selling the s2k and moving on as well...

pay off debt, then eventually find myself in a 370znismo white, or c6zo6.

but a house is gotta come first...

Selling the S for a z06 is one thing, but im pretty sure you'd be dissapointed selling it for a 370z and actually owing money.

We are currently selling our place in Hoboken, NJ and looking to buy a house as well, I can honestly say I am very content with the current car, and am REALLY looking foward to "modding" the garage where she will be kept . Living in a city blows, I never had a place to park my car. If I was in the market for another car, certainly would not be a replacement to the S, just an addition. When you finally get the car to where you want it power/aesthetics it's nice to enjoy. I love the Z06's but to me the simpicity and "rarity" if you will makes me appreciate it that much more.

Although I do want a Viper, and the Z06 is nice because it has such a rock solid tranny and is pretty to the eyes (but then when a new model comes out, always makes the previous models look so dated)

rant over

Different strokes for different folks. Had an 04 350z, driven a few 370's, wife has g37. I like em. Don't like the clunky shifting compared to the S. But I do like the fact that adding a twin turbo setup and getting 500+ whp on 8.6psi and being Reliable is a plus for me.
