Default Turbo S2k & boost creep

I keep hearing about more and more S2Ks that are turbo and running into boost creep. And this is not just on log vs tubular manifolds either. I've heard this with GT30Rs and even T3/T4 setups.

I want to understand this problem a little bit better.

If you have had boost creep issues, please post your setup, turbo, wastegate, manifold, etc.

Its when you buy a huge turbo and a crappy little wastegate. You wont have boost creep if you buy properly matched components.

So you won't get boost creep on a standard Greddy kit then?

Nah, I'm just asking in general, I want to see the setups and combos people have that are producing the issue.

We have 2 people so far, that I've dealt with that have our gates that have fixed their issues, but with our 40mm not the 50mm

The problem is deeper than that. It comes down to fabrication sometimes, like a bad wastegate placement. But it is basically when your boost flatlines at say 10 psi, which is your target, and then it just keeps climbing to like 15, and you can't control it. Proper turbo matching can be a big contributor as well.

Buttter- Creep?

You know the fix is probably a 2.5" exhaust, right? I've tested it, and it works.

your having boost creep with a FR manifold and 44mm tial? sounds suprising. Not doubting you though... what boost level is your target and what is it creeping to?

I wouldnt drop down to 2.5 exhaust to fix it.

I have since sold the full race, upgraded to a built block, way more boost.

It will probably happen with the new setup, but wat can you do
Big creep, 7 psi spring, hitting 12 psi
