Turbo selection guide
Is there a turbo selection guide available in the FI forum? I did a couple searches and couldn't find what I was looking for.
I'd be great if a couple of you guys could chime in on what turbos suit what type of reliability and power/torque goals, what are the tradeoffs between journal/ballbearing etc, twinscroll, what's the most bang-for-buck, which turbos are proven and which are kinda sketch, that sort of thing.
Thanks!

Many many threads over turbo selection. I say stick to anything Garret high end if you want reliable power, GT3076r, GT3582r, or the precision equivalent. How I would go about deciding is google and search the forum for turbo dyno sheets and look to cars with your similar goals and setup.

I'm looking for a thread with comparisons across a wider range of categories - how proven the reliability is, what gives the better bang for buck (and what is the tradeoff for this), discussion of adv/disadv of journal vs ball bearing, that kinda thing. And again, there are tons of questions I wouldn't even know to ask because I don't know what's important, but would be answered in a thread like this.
That Evans Tuning link was great btw, thanks for that. What sort of differences do I need to keep in mind when it comes to picking out a setup for the motors that link was targeted at vs our own motor?

I've only use Turbonetics and Garrett for the last 10 years but Garrett have failed on me a few times and never any problems with Turbonetics.
That's why my favorite is easy, add the GT-K and there's no match.
Seems like 99% of this board love/use Garrett, is that because they come in the turbo kits or other reasons?
Don't kill me, I don't want to start a war here (out numbered).
