These threads crack me up. Noob sees fast and furious, can finally afford an s2000 his dream car, has no real clue what the difference in performance or daily attributes an SC vs Roots vs Turbo has. Wants to earn respect on the street and go fast because he realizes his S isn't the strait line machine he thought it was at first. Asks what everyone thinks is the best, starting a debate amongst the lured participants, quickly turning into a bitch fest leaving the OP in more confusion and despair

No offense to the OP, i'm bored tonight

A little secret, there is no one best kit, the only way to discover what you want is to learn what you are lacking first. This takes time and a certain mature level of understanding about your car and your abilities in that car. Your simple question implies you have none of these things yet. So... no soup for you!!!

I might have gone on a bit of a tangent here

I agree on the "no special kit" comment...

Before i went boost the First time, i took rides in a couple supercharged cars, a couple of Geared SC cars, and geared NA car.

With my love of turbo's and coming from turbo's vehicles, i realized that the SC wasnt going to give me the Oomph that i was looking for...

Not only did I NOT have the money to go with an awesome inline kit, i also didnt wanna go with an internal WG'd turbo setup..Greddy was always on my mind and was gonna be my last option..

Then i saw Godspeed...I went with a GODspeed kit and full stand alone and was tuned out the door for under 3900 or so...

I sold it for money and ended up with another Godspeed kit.... same price. I'm enjoying my kit and its proven reliable.

I'm pushing 330whp and 230TQ... for me? thats perfectly fine as i'm not one to drive hard anymore and have no need to have so much HP.. but that is only me. But my 50trim t3/t4 is at full spool at around 3k rpms... great for daily around town kinda driving.. and unlike the greddy, it will pull straight to redline with NO problems.

you have options... go for a ride in a few s2000's.... get a feel with different setups... thats really the only way your gonna know.

Oh totally...Sorry, I didn't mean to sound like I was pushing the Inline kit. They're just the only tuner kit that I am familiar with because they were local to me a few years ago. My point was that any of the tuner options seems to be equivalent in price to the Greddy kit and has substantially more headroom.

well... yes n no...

the tuner kit doesnt include the flange welded for the downpipe..obviously for the reason stated... doesn't include oil relo kit either. there are things missing from that price that once you add up... like fuel components and management and all the little misc stuff.. it add's up QUICK...

Mind you, it's ALL great components and if i had the cash i would do it at the time... but i wanted a couple other things that were not gonna allow it to happen...

but getting a taste of 330whp, i realized that was good enough for me..so going back to the same kit i had before, i was happy doing so cuz i knew how to install it and i knew what was involved 2nd time around...

The kit ive plus ems and tune all together complete bolt on and go was 3900 or so...maaaaaybe tipping to 4grand..

cant beat that when comparing to a tuner kit and esp to the greddy kit..

yeah but thats why its called a "tuner kit" I've seen people buy these kits and take forever if you do it by yourself. Greddy is just bolt on and go. Most sponsors on this site will sell the greddy kit for 3800-4000 shipped.
If you cant get a tune and buy injectors and some kind of management I dont think you should be boosting your car. I personally would never trust a out of the box tune even from greddy. All motors are different, and every FI application I have ever put on my vehicles always seen dyno time. Only way to safely tune a vehicle.

my numbers UNCORRECTED

for both a 125mm and a 135mm crank pulley

First graph has the HP and the TQ ranges scaled to relay more resolution hence the TQ curve at the beginning looks different then most people are accustom to seeing with a roots.

The second graph is more realistic in terms of a qualitative representation of how the power comes in; the TQ is instant.

Tested the kit out at Talladega Gran Prix Raceway on June 6th 2008
http://www.tgprace.com/
minimum of 20 minute run groups
93 Deg F
Humidity varied 50-60%

The kit performed just as expected even though I was still tuning the timing curve for the track.

I did have a fuel issue due to hi G loads
Even with 1/2 of a tank due to the full TEIN Super Racing circuit suspension among other changes to the car the amount of G's the car is capable was starving the fuel pump; time for a fuel cell with a baffled tank.

Picture of the car in the back straight (approx 90mph at the time of the picture)

A/F are in the 12.1 - 12.5 depending on boost and RPM
EGTs on track were in the 820C (1508F) and was for the most part constant (within 10C)
Now with the final timing curve EGTs average 780C (1436 F)
DEFI EGT probe is located about 1" from the final merge collector on the header.
This gives an average temp across all 4 cylinders but is not as quick to respond if it was placed closer to the head. However since that was done on the track the probe had time to reach the and hold the peek EGT temp.
Header is wrapped extensively with 2 layers of Thermotech.

At the end of the 20 min run prior to starting the cool down lap where one would expect water and oil temps to be at there maximum
Oil was just a little over 110C
Water was just a little under 90C
Mugen thermostat/fan switch
IATs never went higher then 20 degs F above ambient
