Turbo VS SC Handling
#11
It's not a matter of having a SC vs. turbo. It's matching the tire grip and chassis balance to the road conditions with power.
At the Dragon, summer tires and normally aspirated is more than enough.
Big laggy turbo on all seasons won't be fun.
With the right tires and suspension modifications, an appropriately sized turbo can be just fine.

i was talking to a local guy and he said the 6262 was the best option for my goals, he was the guy that was gonna do my basemap so i could drive to a good tuner. honestly id give my left nutt for something like the SOT SC thst made more than 375 maxed out. Ill look into the GTX3076 and if fullblown offers it.
@Uncoolron - i think i actualy spoke to you about it a bit at the dragon during billmans tech day. i wad the silver ap1 that had the axle nut tsb done first thing in the am. appreciate the input =)
im wondering what the precision equivalent would be. seems like the 5252 is a bit small for my goals, but the 6262 is too big so... 5857?

Why bother with what full blown offers, I'd get a GTX3076 hands down over something like a 6262 for this car, regardless of who sells it.
Try a site like ATP turbo or whatever other site you find it cheap on.
I've got a precision turbo currently, it'll be the last one I buy I think, Garrett is my next purchase.

That's a pretty big turbo.....I 2nd the motion on the GTX3076 and speaking from experience having had both an S2000 that was super charged, and now turbo'd running the GTX3076, that the GTX3076 spools very fast, has a very similar linear power curve to that of the SC, and is well capable of 550+ hp (if setup and tuned correctly).....I wouldn't hesitate to turbo again for the fun factor alone both in and out of the twisties

My understanding of it, is a proper setup, and lots of tuning, the turbo would be better. It just takes some time and money to get it right. The supercharger is an easier bolt on, NA feel type of mod. I know a guy making 600+ whp on the 6262 so that turbo is too big for sure. Going turbo for track becomes a science, getting all the pieces to match and work together, to give you minimal lag and controllable part throttle.
Personally, Ill be using the SOS supercharger if/when I go FI.
