Default Turning up the boost on a SC

HI everyone. Still kinda new to the FI world.

I have the stock comptech /AC setup with tech2 FM radiator.

To turn up the boost, for example, to a 9lb pulley, what do you need?

I understand i wll need injectors and fuel management.

What size injectors?
what do our stock injectors flow?

Most importantly,
What kind of fuel management is neccessary?

I hear AEM EMS, VFAC, EUGO, Wideband, etc, but I have no idea what any of these really do, and how they help with xtra boost. Anyone care to enlighten me?

With a 9psi Pulley from Tech2 I think you should be fine with 650cc Injectors. Right now I am seeing approximately 11psi at the intake manifold and am at 84% duty cycle @ 57psi fuel pressure on my 650cc injectors. I think with 650cc you should be more than fine - stock injectors are 360cc if I'm not mistaken.

AEM EMS is AEM Engine Management System. It completely takes place of your stock ECU and allows your tuner to set exactly what your car will do. No longer will your car "learn" what it should do, but it will have a set program of "this is what I do at this time".
APEXi VAFC is APEXi Vtec Air Fuel Controller. It allows you to alter your Vtec Engagement point as well change your A/F Mixtures in 500rpm incriments (300rpm incriments on VAFC2 units). This is a good tool - I personally thought skipped over it straight to an EMS as you can set everything!
Wideband is a Real-Time Air/Fuel Reading tool. As opposed to a swinging needle on normal A/F Gauges which are tapped into your ECU Wires it actually provides its own o2 sensor that gives you an actual A/F Reading at that precise time! It is very useful for a good tune!

If you are planning to upgrade to a 9psi pulley, I'd personally would recommend that you not only look into an AEM EMS w/ Eugo (1052-U) however also look into an AEM High Flow Fuel Pressure Regulator! It is quite a bit of extra money, however the extra power & feeling of security that you wil get from it in my opinion is well worth it!

maybe even do 750cc injectors so you have room to grow without having to keep upping the fuel press. Who knows, maybe you'll go beyond 9psi someday. Get the aem fpr and a fuel pressure gauge because it helps in tuning and troubleshooting. The 30-1052U IMO is the only way to run everything. You can hookup your laptop to monitor and datalog everything. I run my laptop while driving to monitor a/f, rpm, and coolant/intake temps.

How much do you think it would cost to upgrade boost from stock Comptech with AC? Ballpark with installation?

This is for 9 pound pulley...

Apexi VAFC II: 300
Install and tune: 200
Tech2 pulley: 150
AEM FPR: 190
650cc injectors: 400
Install: 100

Looks like it runs about $1400 to upgrade "10-20" hp (Tech2's claims on their web site).

Is that worth it? $70 per pony?! Maybe I'll just take the spare and tool kit out....

I thought that was from a 7lbs pulley with comptech. and if I do decide to go with the 7lbs do I have to do anything to the car, or just simply turn up the FPR that come with the comptech s/c kit>?

black nugget, HOw many miles did you racked up when you had your 7 psi pulley installed? did you noticed any DIFFERENT or power gain compared to the stock pulley from comptech? and did you have to upgrade anything to the engine and can you tuned car as is? (everything stock from comptech, plus the 7lbs pulley form tech2)?

When I originally installed the Comptech Supercharger I completely skipped over the traditional pulley & installed the 7psi pulley from tech2. I drove around on that for 4k miles (1 Trip to Wake The Dragon & a tad bit of local driving). Then took it off to go even further.
