I meant NOT centrifugal, roots would do better to cover the range the turbo doesn't.

below 4K? not a ton, unless I'm driving a vette.... then I can spend plenty down there. Thats what the root would help with, making some usuable low end power then i'd spend more down by 4k.

To be realistic I spend a fair amount of time around 4K actually, I try not to drop below 2000 really ever but I run all the way down to 2500rpm assuming I know I have very little load on the motor. I think the motor would be nice to have some power starting at 3k realistically.
************************************
Has anyone ever thought about or done a twin turbo set up on the s2k. I was thinking maybe a small turbo to get it going below 5k and the big gt35 for after 5k.****************** ORIGINAL POST

I'm not sure where 4K really came into play here but I thought I'd argue the point for the hell of it. Main point is that a Roots would be GREAT down low and ok till 4K where the turbo would begin to take over. If you don't feel the same..... I guess just run a turbo cause mines at full spool by 4K, thus there's no need according to you it sounds like for anything lower. I'd love to have power from 2500, just for the hell of it if i wanted to throw money at something and do something different'. If were talking twin turbo setup then this system is at least on topic and makes some sense. If you don't think twin turbo makes anysense for the car (which I dont think it does for MY driving style NOR does a SC/ turbo combo) then why bother even discussing it???? I thought it was a hypothetical situation we were talking about here for the most part anyway.

the 4k is a general comment- meaning no one really drives the car down there- no point intended-

...... so why post in a TWIN TURBO thread? Since we all know power above 4K is easily attained?

Answer not needed.

because the user wanted to know if it was done before- I posted why people prob. have not done it- now if the car red lined at 6.5-7k then I see it-

If a thread starts with "reasons twin turbo's don't exist" be sure to chime in. NOBODY HERE thinks its a worthwhile idea. Way to just miss the point the whole time.

i'm surprised nobody so far has mentioned the fact that turbos normally kick in between 3 and 4k rpm, yet vtec kicks in around 6.2 (oem)

vtec brings peak power and torque.. bit like the characteristics a turbo gives.

C7 JFW-
ya vtec isn't noticeable usually on a turbo car..... Since I have one and my friend does we both know that. Nor does it create the kind of power were discussing. If were talking twin turbo on a car thats already single turbo very capable it only applies to 750whp+. Even then I don't think twin is the way to go EVER on this car however if it's going to be done, there are some cool results to be had. Such as stated earlier by a few different people. Fact is no turbo car has massive hp down low and massive numbers up top. Its give and take, twin turbo is a bit more give give. I'd love to see someone do something different on the car, that'd be fun.

Turbodipshit-
Also ya mine is smaller and spools very early like 3-3.5K...... however most big hp# turbo cars dont hit hard till 4-4.5K. The point of running two turbos like 28RS would be pointless, so what were talking about is the best of both worlds THEORETICALLY thus a large frame and small frame. That said, no it won't kick in at 3-4K and make major #'s up top. The best range is a 35R and that still won't do both to the max. Since were talking about the theoretical side of things.

my oh my

do some of this. Later Man but I'm sure u'll keep posting because running your mouth on the net is easy right?
