Default "UglyStick" first 1/4 mile times

I finally situated the chassis setup on the car and put some sticky rubber in the rear. Derek @ Innovative Motowerks tuned the car to nasty 730hp, but we intentionally limited boost in 1st and 2nd until we had traction and suspension dialed in good enough to add power back. Drummond Race Cars tuned the suspension with some custom pieces and saw some interesting things. Car is straight as a mutherf'er now. ( Drummond built Sal Patels Outlaw Viper as well as a f@#kton of real racecars)

Feeling froggy yesterday I loaded the car up and headed off to Atco, even though it was hot and humid as shit out, it would be a decent day to learn the car. I figured how bad could it be in 2600DA ( not typicla for east coast)

Figured I would get more runs in even if things went well (9's and 135mph+ and no cage/chute) if I ran No/Time

A few minutes later I was in the lanes. Keep in mind im only on 3 psi for 2step,10 psi 1st gear, 14-16psi 2nd gear, and then 27 psi 3rd+

No burnouts as I dont know how yet ( 1st manual car )

Not too shabby. I hit up Derek and he told me he would have a tune with more psi down low shortly. I tried 1 more run as-is but missed a gear and went 12.x@128.

Loaded up the new map and went back out, still no burnouts. and still bogged off the line

Now we are gettin somewhere!

After a decent cooldown I went back out again

well F*** me!, Im learning how to drive this thing now!

Unfortunately, as I pulled off onto the return lane i notice huge amounts of white water vaporish smoke out the back. I knew i effed something up. So now the car will be headed back to IMW to pull the head and check severity. All in all, Im not even mad other than the fact it happened so shortly after buying the car and so few runs on it.

As long as I have it back in time for TX2K17 so can whoop some ass, ill be good.

What suspension setup did you go with? I've been trying to figure out what would work best for me at near 1000 whp.

Full Race 6262, E85, T1R built the motor, PPG trans, FB 8" rear, DSS 3.9 axles, Innovative Motowerks tuned, Weld 15x9.5, MT ET street II tires

I went with Penske shocks, not sure about rates as DRC handled that, along with the KP antiroll bar. I had an issue with car yanking hard right and then wobbling side-side even on 3rd gear rolls and definitely in the 1/2 mile races. I cant say for sure the car wont wobble 150+ as I havent gotten to take it back up there yet. However, 140+ was no issue here and would definitely feel comfortable going for 180 once its back. Its a fine balance between good transfer for a good 60, which I didnt even have a chance to try, and high speed stability so I cant for sure say what works and what doesnt

I've got the IP engine/head build (same build setup as RedStar), FR mani and 6466 turbo (may swap to the 6870), IP R200 diff, 3.9 DSS axles (going to the 5.9 soon), just not sure what front and rear spring rates to run on it. The Eibach pro kit I now have on it I am afraid will be too soft and the rear will squat too hard. I know it squatted hard at 800 whp before.

Im jealous of that 6466, thats what im going to as next as long as this motor thing isnt too bad. id like to have about 850 on tap. before that, my next step was 5.9 and T56, but thats on hold. I had BmaxII coilovers prior, and the guy before me had all 4 at different settings, which is what we ran the 1/2 mile on and didnt know. Shit was scary. When I got home i checked them and set all of them to full stiff, was way waaay waaaay better, much less squat. Not sure how much that helps as im not playing with as much power as you.

What trans are you on? I may be interested in that 6466 if you want to part ways with it/ will fit my setup ( also FR mani)

I've got the GForce/RPM T56 with new custom scatter shield bell housing. Still waiting on the bell to get completed. The 6466 is brand new and haven't tried it out yet. Still worried the twin scroll T4 1.15 AR turbine housing may limit my top end but we will see. If I have issues, I may go back to an open housing like a .82 or something but will keep the manifold.
