Default Upgrade fuel pump and drive standard?

Aright guys,

I am currently stripping my car down and making it look all shiny/improving all the worn bits. With this in mind I have dropped the subframe and fuel tank etc and was wondering something...

In the future I will be supercharging my S2000 and an obvious fuel pump upgrade will be necessary. In my head I think it would be best to upgrade the pump now with it being out of the car but was concerned that if I ran the car for a long period of time with the upgraded pump that it might damage one part of the fuel system (pump burn out, injectors etc).

So question is can I upgrade to the 255lb Walbro and continute to run the vehicle or is it best to just put the car back together with the existing OEM fuel pump and wait until I gather the money for the supercharger kit and do it all at once?

Cheers,

Nick

Shouldn't affect anything. I started my car on stock injectors/ecu when I installed my 340lph pump to confirm correct installation and it ran perfectly fine.

What about over a longer period of time? Car is going to be a weekend warrior so it's not going to be daily driven, but all the same don't want it to break something too soon.

A lot of guys that go back to stock leave the upgraded fuel pump in because its such a pain to get to. I've never heard of any ill effects.

As long as your base Fuel pressure is set to stock, you'll be fine.

You will have no problems, I left mine in the tank while going back to stock on several occasions.

fantastic. Thank you very much for the help.

Where is the best place to buy the fuel pump, anywhere near Houston/Texas? Leaving the country in 12 days and need one asap as parts in the UK are beyond a joke. Also cheap AEM V2 if possible and injectors?

Science of Speed should be able to get all of those to you in your time frame.

I ran my car 100% stock for a very long period of time before with a Walbro 255hp fuel pump and it was perfectly normal.

There are a ton of fake Walbro pumps on ebay so be careful. They're relatively cheap and can be purchased at your local auto parts store. I got second one from an Autozone when my first 255 went bad and I was at the dyno getting tuned.
