Tbh, the 2002 is noisy anyway. I'm very tempted to go with the Quaife, but it'll be a winter project unless the current one breaks.

Surely you could stop the wheels locking on downshifts just by heal and toeing?

I doubt it's even half as noisy.Maybe I could get away with heel and toe, but the Geartronics is map able and it does clutch less up changes and it blips the throttle on down changes which I would have thought eliminated the need for heel/toe.

Your in the uk arnt you? If you want a ride in it let me know.

Which ever way you dress it up its not a good road gearbox, even the helical cut won't be a massive amount better.

The novelty of a sequential gearbox did appeal to me and to an extent it suits my car.No doubt when my car is mapped for full power then maybe it will come into its own but it's never going to be nice in traffic.Even without the Paddleshifter Quaife told me that you need to be very brutal with the gearchanges to reduce wear on the dogs........so drive it like you stole it they told me.I was running 500 hp last year and I don't thing driving it like I stole it is conducive to a long life.

If you do decide to go for one and want the flat shift facility let me know because I've got a pressure sensitive flat shift gear knob I can sell you....£500 if you buy a new one. Also if you can talk them into letting you have a box without the stick shift I've got one of those aswell.

Ive got a couple of vids on my FB page but they don't really indicate how loud it really is.If you want one go for it, it's fully functional and strong but it's just very crude.Provided you don't expect any refinement or road manners from it you will be fine. They are bloody expensive to buy tho.

I forgot to say I love your 2002,you could probably get away with the drama and crudeness of the Quaife.....it would suit your car, especially with the power it's running.

Where in the UK are you? I'd be intrigued to see/hear the box.

I'm in Stoke on Trent, if you hang on until it's mapped (which should be in the next few weeks you could experience it at full power.....Maybe the box will come into its own at that point.

Mr-Pitts... did you need to mod the transmission tunnel to get the 69G to fit?

Awesome. That's good news. Is the mounting straightforward...?
