Used Turbo or Supercharge?
This might have been a question a few times but just wondering I'm trying to turbo my s2000 or supercharger it but a new setup is out of the question right now due to my budget
so my main question is should I buy used and if I do which one would be more reliable used

I'm pretty new here - but i'm sure the debate of SC vs TB has been discussed once or twice before... if you need to ask then you didn't take the time to search. LOL...
In all seriousness though - I personally would not go down this path if your budget it not stout enough to absorb any foreseen. You may find you need a new clutch after an upgrade, need a valve adjust, new coil packs, etc etc etc... or the used parts you bought were not in the condition you expected and you need to buy some replacement components etc.
Also, a used exhaust or sway bar is one thing, but a used SC or TB with all the moving components etc is another - I'd save up and buy new when you have appropriate budget.

My best advice is to master (not merely learn) the car in stock form first and go from there. Tires are the critical performance parts on sports cars, not "coil-overs," or forced induction. Quarter mile times are fun but taking that next corner is probably more important,
Used turbo- and super-chargers appear here all the time. These are, of course, parts discarded by someone else. Just like used cars. Complete kits are key which is what is provided with new parts.
Supercharger installation is a one day, maybe a weekend install and really only involves removing the front bumper cover to put the after cooler there. The rest of the parts just mount on the front of the engine (after you replace the main belt pulley, a difficult task). I watched one being installed on my buddy's 2002 car one Saturday. Turbo charger requires a new exhaust header, etc. and is much more complex.
Either installation requires a bigger fuel pump, injectors, and tuning the engine which in turn requires a tune-able ECU and someone who knows what they're doing.

U said ur on a budget but didn't say how much...
My first kit was used and on a budget for 3800 SOS TS max
Used ID1k 350, bs fi clutch 500, 255lph Walbro 120 iirc, hondata FP 649 iirc that I believe is the bare essentials at the least. Planning is key, and not sure if u can do your own work also is a biggy. And ur ap1 so management will most likely be different.
My buddy got a used Comptech for 2500 after draining a lil money in a aftercooler setup from Frozen boost and making his own black box to fool map he's on stock ECU stock injectors and a eBay adj. Fpr with 255lph it's really coming together nicely! And is a lot of fun to drive... Even without the 75 wetshot on top lmao still nonetheless great budget build and I give him a lot of props.

I had the same question not too long ago.. about a month ago... I ended up with a used greddy turbo kit.. I originally planned on getting a supercharger because I like the whinning noise of the supercharger and apparently it more reliable and I think it make the car sound like an airplane which is awesome.. but I ended up buying a used greddy turbo kit in craigslist and it was inexpensive so I just had to buy it... The BOV sounds cool on a turbo..
