how much should my supercharer "chatter" or "rattle"
its not extremly loud but just loud enough to make me a little concerned

same here, i am worrying, since it is a bit loud, and i ve seen other people have the same problem

 

LOL...I heard it's not suppose to rattle, but the three I've heard all do... including mine.

 

Do you mean rattle as in sounds like a bunch of rocks in a can at idle? or rattle as in shake the vehicle? If it is the first then its normal as long as it goes away when you bring up the rpms.

 

rattle as in just noise at idle, that makes me feel a little better.

 

I had noise at idle, went away at about 2k. sounded like a gear box problem, the S/C needed new seals and bearings

 

I get a rattle that is off and on every second or so at idle. I think the noise is still there as the revs climb, you just can't hear it with all the other noises. It sounds like it comes from the blower when I get my ear under the hood.

 

shoot!! I can't find that Video Viper made of his S/C noise. I'll go on the other site and see if he can link it to me..

Hmm mine makes more of a gravely noise and doesnt whistle that loud. Hmm wish I knew someone in my area I could compare mine to.
