No, that is why it is cheaper. If you by the whole kit you get a black box that controls timing and an FMU to increase pressure so enough fuel will flow through stock injectors and a fuel pump. You get the tuner kit for about a grand less, so you can spend that grand on injectors and engine management. You will need a tuner to set it up but you then can control vtec set point and properly set AFR etc and run whatever psi pulley you want.
oh ok gotcha thanks !

What parts supplier has carried the Vortech Kit so that we can keep a look out on it when it is up for sale in the FS forums?

I'm curious... just how efficient is the water-cooler for the charge air?

Andre
Any takers?

Randizzle? Not trying to single you out here but you seem to know a lot about this kit.

I have had good experience with superchargersonline.com Talk to Tony he is very helpful and will give you a good price. I am trying to get more info on the V3 SCi unit and "you tune" kit, I will see what I can come up with.

Here's how I look at it. Old VWs and Porsches were air cooled. Eventually they realized that water cooling works better. Just my thoughts without getting to in depth.

Both have pros and cons. Depends what's important to you.

There are lots of variables to factor in but typically from what I've seen here in Cali @ 10 PSI the Vortech air/water charge cooler will take out about 100-150 degrees. This was with the smaller setrab water cooler, Vortech now uses a larger dual pass water cooler in the 00-08 S2000 kits.

Wow... that's pretty damn impressive.

That dual pass system that they use now I'm sure has loads more efficiency.

Thanks for the info...
