Default Vortech and AEM EMS

Hi Guys!

I recently installed a Vortech SC on my MY00. I also installed a AEM Wideband Controler to see my A/F Ratio. It seems to me that the Vortech electronics and FMU are crap because my A/F ratios are way too lean. My plan is to remove the Vortech Black Box and FMU and replace it with an AEM EMS.
I'll be running stock boost for the beginning, also have smaller pulleys ready, will upgrade later.
I was told that I need an AEM adjustable FPR along with the EMS, is that correct?
And I was also told that the stock injectors are ok for stock boost, is that right?

Do I need to take care of other things too?

I run the stock cat, GReddy 70mm Exhaust will be upgraded.

Sorry for my noob questions but I'm desperately trying to get my setup running.

Igor

I won't delete the cat, already have a ACT PP + OEM disk + Comptech Flywheel combo

Did you upgrade the oil banjo bolts? I'm doing the same as you, although not sure about the AEM EMS, I was looking at an e-manage I never plan to change from stock vortech boost.

Vortech's electronics do not affect the A/F ratio.

Whoa really? If you are injecting more air than how TF does it run properly? I guess you really do need something else than. I thought the comptech kit did and assumed the vortech kit did.

Guess I'll shell out for something...

The Vortech uses a mechanical FMU to raise fuel pressure as you build boost. You could try a Vortech 12:1 (10:1 is what should be in it from Vortech) FMU re-calibration kit or some other rising rate regulator to help richen it out before spending a lot of money. The black electronic boxes are for timing and the map sensor only.

I just got my Vortech in the mail about 4 days ago, I ordered the 3.48 inch pulley and am running 750cc Injectors to support the higher boost. I am also running AEM EMS with wideband. I bought the AEM FPR as I do not particularly like the FMU from Vortech. I was going to go with a Tial BOV but am sticking with the vortech unit instead. I am also running it with a FMIC from inline pro as I didn't really want to use the aftercooler either. I would recommend larger injectors and the AEM FPR if you plan on going higher boost. I will have pics up with dyno results next week when I get down to Stage 6 in Jacksonville (I'm going to get it dyone'd and final tune there).
