Default vortech aftercooler

hi i am about to move to Massachusetts, and i am supercharged (aftercool).
Doesnt the water freezes under freezing temperture with the vortech setup? I dont want it to bust under freezing temperture. Is there something i can do? like antifreeze?

As long as you are using an engine anti-freeze it will not. If you are using water, you can rupture the aftercooler, radiator and reservoir.

Add antifreeze man...treat it like a regular radiator...especially when temps drop

remember water does better cooling but anti-freeze keeps it thawed..... mix em, probably water-wetter is safe to run, anyone see why it woudn't be? Engine Ice maybe even?

Water-wetter is most certainly safe for the system. Although it probably has the same effect on efficiency as regular engine coolant so I'd just pick up your favorite coolant and flush the system. 50/50 mix should be fine.

I live in new york, so I put 50/50 water and antifreeze just like you would in the radiator in my vortech. The antifreeze may also help corrosion inside the coolant system.

Let it freeze! That's gotta lower intake temps by at least another ~50 degrees!

Add some coolant/antifreeze.
