Default Vortech Crank pulley

Since there are a good amount of us running SOS and comptech supercharger kits, I was wondering if anyone has ever ran a Vortech crank pulley.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vortech-4HS0...85afcb&vxp=mtr

Since they discontinued the kit from vortech I've seen a bunch of stuff go for sale on ebay. I spotted this and was wondering if anyone has tried it.

I wanted to go down to a 3" pulley but I've read that some people have belt slip issues. This might help in getting the same boost pressure with a bigger blower pulley for more wrap.

I tried looking for a picture of just the crank pulley but i cant find one.

Any thoughts?

You cant use the Vortech underdrive pulley on the SOS provided crank pulley. The offsets and bolt pattern are different.

I'm missing the crank pulley and modified damper for a Vortech V2 kit for AP1. The vendor above said they do not have these, and Vortech said that they do not sell these any more. Vortech advised to see if the SOS modified damper would work on the stock OEM crank pulley. SOS said they would be happy to sell one to me but can't guarantee it will fit. Anyone have any success for replacement crank pulley and modified damper?

You can have ASP in texas make you a replacement. They may have one already "spec'd" for you. I know they made a 7" vortech pulley for me last year. You could ask them to make you a 6.5" version of what I got.

Thanks, I spoke to them and they said they could do it. Is 6" or 6.5 the OEM size of the modified damper? How did the 7" pulley work out for you?

The original vortech adapter is 6", however if you EVER think you're going to want more boost (and everyone eventual does), I would get the biggest one you can fit easily. I know 6.5" fits no problem. I'm pretty certain 6.75" will fit too, but it'll be close, like take off your water pump pulley to the belt on close. What's the benefit of this? It lets you "size up" the vortech blower pulley a half inch (or more depending on how much bigger your go) so less potential belt slip-you can stay over a 4" blower pulley. I went with 7" crank pulley because I was shooting for 18 psi and didn't want an absurdly little blower pulley. It works perfectly. I had to down size the water pump pulley though.

So will the 6.75" ASP pulley clear the stock water pump pulley or is it actually going to be too close for comfort?

Have ASP make you a water pump pulley that goes with the crank pulley.

I had a new larger than stock 6.5" crank pulley made by ASP Texas for my Vortech V2. They also made a fine supercharger pulley for the blower itself so I recommend them
