Default Vortech ECU

I've just finished installing my vortech kit on my car,

and found the ecu (timing controller) had a serial port.

What's the port for? monitoring? or tuning? or something completely different?

I'm very confused :~

you can't tune it. that box is used for timing only. I believe the manufacturer of that black box (was it split fire) can re-program it to possibly adjust more timing or less, but I believe thats it.

Split second makes the timing controller.

It can be reprogrammed with the software from them. You can change the timing retard based on manifold pressure.

I've done it on my old Vortech to stop detonation on oxygenated winter fuels.
