Default Vortech getting installed soon..any tips?

Getting my Vortech installed within 2 weeks. Anything else I should need when we get it done? Car has about 40,000 miles. Got a stage 2.5 clutch installed, and have some fresh Mobil 1. What else should I buy in preparation?

Probably some tissues for when you drool, especially on the freeway, whole different beast, enjoy!!

p.s. I just bought a turbosmart vee-port BOV to replace the vortech one as i am looking for a louder sound, purchased from inlinepro.com

have fun, but be safe!
Fred

I had my Vortech kit installed about 4 weeks ago.

Is it really what you'd hoped it would be? How does it stack up against V8s? Do I need a plug upgrade? I'm also named Fred!

It was what i hoped for, the cool part is you can still drive it normal if under v-tech (6250rpm) but once it hits, hold on!
From a dead dig they would probably take you, but on the freeway or from a nice roll they will get one hell of a shock when they see your rear end!
Now when you say V8's i'm talkin about mustangs and similar V8's , as far as corvettes go, I wouldn't push my luck on a stock Vortech system.
Vortech recomends you change your plugs every 10k, to keep them fresh, if you have never changed them, i would defenitly do it. You can either stick with stock, or go iridium! I have stock.
I am waiting to go what i call "Stage 2" which includes , 3.8 inch pulley(good for about 15psi), 2mm headgasket, 750cc injectors, and AEM EMS, i will try to do it this year if funds allow, if not i will have to suffer till next year, lol

From one Fred to another enjoy, and try to get some sleep, it was hard for me, until I got my baby back, lol

With the setup you described Im sure you will have a whole lot of power...but seems like you won't get much life with it like that.

The only thing I can recommend is since you have to remove the oil pan anyway, find out what banjo bolts you have and replace them if they aren't the new 4 hole ones.

Take some time and notch the cross-member where the idler pulley bolt will contact it.
If you don't it makes changing the belt or a pulley a bitch. What I am saying is you will have to jack up on the engine to get the bolt out if you don't notch it. I'll take a picture later today.

Just make sure you wrap around a teflon tape around the oil feeding line...from the blower so it wont leak.
