Default Vortech Reliability

Hey guys I'm in the market for an S2K and I found one up for sale with 129k miles but it has 3500 miles on the supercharger. It has the air to water intercooled self contained V3 Supercharger with about 460whp. I want an S2K for the Honda reliability, but be honest, does FI throw that out the window?

Sounds like a very high hp number to me....

On the reliability note....assuming the car has been maintained and tuned well, you should not have any issues.

Thats what I was thinking, I'm going to ask for a dyno sheet. The only thing that scares me is the 100k+ mileage.

The mileage won't be an issue motor wise as long as the tune is good, however the other wear items I'd check on. Engine mounts are likely to be shot. OEMs are a couple hundred. The rear diff mounts may be starting to crack too. Shock life? Front LCA compliance bushings? That one is pain to swap too. Mileage on clutch? Endlinks? OEMs aren't cheap. It starts to add up.

Gauge pod with boost gauge and air/fuel ratio. Greddy catback. Greddy header. Test pipe. Cross drilled brakes and rotors. New transmission-rear end fluid. Mobil one synthetic oil changes. What boost is it making? Numbers sound really high for the V3 kit unless running really high boost.

If it's a Si blower then that's believable with the right fuel and pulley. Vortech tech told me the Si internals and compressor map are the same as the novi 1200. If it's a SCi then that's hard to believe since the internals are the same as the Novi 1220.

It's an air to water intercooled self contained V3 supercharger. Running 16psi with forged pistons and rods with sleeved cylinders.

V3 just means it's self lubed. There are different v3 blowers.
