Default Vortech tuning issue

Finally got the car to the tuners today and I'm running into some problems. This is an ap2 s/c kit on an ap1. I am making less HP/TQ now with the s/c than when I was stock. Boost is almost at 9lbs at 8K. My a/f is good and is at 12:1 all the way to 8k and than fuel is cut off (I have a ap1)? The ap2 black box works because the tuner was able to add/subtract timing. But he did mention that when he tried to tune for the first time the values in the blackbox was all jacked up. Also, he said when I dropped the car off the a/f was really really rich around 9:1 - 10:1 and I had drove like this for 2 1/2 weeks. My questions is this:

1) What could be the problem(s)
2) Can driving my car really rich for that long destroy my cat and create back pressure?
3) Do anyone have the Vortech AP2 base map that they can send me?

My next appointment is next Wednesday and I had already cough up $450 for him telling me my car sucks right now. Thanks in advance.

What engine management are you being tuned with?

The vortech black box with the split second software. He said he doesn't think it's the box or software because he would do changes in the box and the car would see results but no power?

Don't think you can even tune with that but idk. I would just pull that box out all together and use another map block and see what that does. That or get stand alone and injectors and a new 3 bar map sensor and get tuned. Could be an issue with the black box.

me either but he said he can and he leaned out the a/f ratio with the split second software and was able to change timing and everything else.

If he has a map block spacer laying around you can try pulling the black box and seeing how it runs like that. I didn't run the black box in my ap1 and was fine.

Looks like your timing is jacked or you have a serious boost problem. Loose pulley or slipping belt????? I don't know much about SC. Scratch that. I don't know anything.

LOL yea he said timing could be an issue because he said it seemed like someone messed with the values preset by vortech. So I'm trying to see if anyone have a ap2 base map I can get. I don't think it's a loose pulley or slipping belt because I should be running at 10 psi and I'm at almost 9 psi at 8k

I'll ask him to add this onto the list of things we have to check. I just wanna narrow that list down a bit. It's getting pricey.

If you can get a compression or leak down test I would spend the 50 bucks or so to get the peace of mind before you go further. You mention that you've been running pretty rich for about 2 weeks, so I would just make sure that you didn't fuel wash your motor in that period of time.
