Default Vortech vs Comptech - Specifically their Brackets

Hello guys.

Which do you think is the better mounting bracket? Vortech or Comptech? By better I mean which one is easier on the timing chain cover mounting points, which offers easier belt changes, which is stronger in.the long run, etc?

reason I ask is because I have a Vortech kit but am considering selling in favour of a Comptech that came up for sale at a good deal. Just curious about the mounting hardware specifically because I know Vortech brackets can/have cracked at the VTEC sandwich in particular and they don't make it easy to change the blowers belt...

Comptech all day . This is coming from a Vortech owner as well . The Vortech bracket is total overkill and does not offer the trick little rubber vibration dampers like the Comptech/SOS units . The head units are all pretty much the same .

nice to hear from a Vortech owner with an honest opinion, thanks man
is the Comptech bracket belt change friendly? With Vortech u have to pull the blower assembly forward which is no easy task...

Comptech for sure, for the sake of easy belt changes alone.

Yes , changing the belt on the Vortech is a pain in the ass . You have to almost remove the whole damn thing .

Yeah I'm glad to hear that because my guess was right lol. I might still be able to buy a second hand Comptech kit then sell my Vortech kit to recover funds and maybe make a profit too

my friend and i tried to change the belt on my Vortech last year but we failed. It's too damn difficult with that lower spacer in the way! Finally my mechanic had to do it.

It takes 5 min on the comptech and SoS kits. Loosen the idle/tension pulley and slip it off. Put it back on and tighten.
