its all in the design of the manifold that dictates VTEC crossover. I think it comes down to efficiency. Log manifolds seem to want a higher vtec crossover point compared to a tubular manifold. My UR manifold like a 6K rpm crossover point, compared to my 3.9K crossover point on my supercharger setup. getting your car on the dyno will dictate what point gives the smoothest transition.
