VTEC turning off by itself?
I realized this weird problem with my car. I start the car, drive for a couple of minutes until the engine gets hot, VTEC is fine. I drive for like 20mins or so, and the VTEC stops kicking in. I checked from AEM and it IS sending the signal because it shows the VTEC is ON whereas it isn't.
I stop the car, wait a couple hours until the engine cools down. Start driving again, VTEC is fine again and again lose it in like 20 mins
What might be the possible causes of this problem? Anybody had it before?

my car occasionally breaks up... all since the motor had a new headgasket installed... the mechanic also forgot to intall a vtec solenoid gasket...
try checking your solenoid to see if it is working correctly... i think you run a 12 volt through the wire and if its between 15-30ohms its ok... if not, and its bad... correct me if im wrong though...

You can do the ghetto test by unplugging the solenoid plug and run a wire from the + battery terminal to the + wire on the solenoid. If you hear the solenoid click it's still good. No click=bad solenoid. You might want to check your VTEC parameters in EMS too.
