Default Walbro 255 pump getting louder?

Does the Walbro pump get progressively louder as it breaks in? Mine was stock-silent when first installed, but I noticed it more today after getting past 120 miles. I'd think the pump should stay at the same decibel volume through its life.

Thoughts & experiences welcomed.

mine is louder after its ben running for a few hours. On my trips to see my girlfriend, after 5 hours of constant driving, it will be whining rather loudly! Around town its not too loud, although since i got my exhaust, i really can't hear it anymore...

The whining is normal...especially under hard use. Mine whines when it gets a flogging.

Yup it whines all the time. Sometime when I get on there will be a really high pitch sound coming from that area so I figure its the pump.

interesting u'd bring this up people

My 255 was always very quiet....then i took a trip to vegas this summer when it was INSANE temps outside....I didn't think it was gonna make it, I could hear it whine while doing 100mph it was incredibly loud.

I stopped and topped off with gas...which of course made it a little quieter but still I was soo worried. I just kept driving it and now 2,000 miles later it is quiet again but not AS quiet as before that trip...

Seems to be temp related though, If the car is cold its much much quieter.
