mine is kinda like that too...i took the softtop tray out because there was an annoying rattle coming from it...but the rattle is still there. so i'm going to use some silicone adhesive sealant on it and hopefully that does the trick.

I used to have a rattle from the gas tank top cover- the one with the 3 little screws. That top cover rattled. IIRC, I used some thick, double-sided tap between the cover and the tank body and reattached the 3 screws. Problem solved.

I used some thick double sided tape on my rattle for my soft top tray too and it worked perfect. Of course the 10" in the trunk was what was making it rattle . No more now.

already siliconed the hell out of it...didn't have any double sided handy when i decided to do it

exactly which part did you put the double sided tape on? the parts where the 2 side pieces touch the middle piece?

Mine whines very randomly.. fast or slow driving, empty or full tank, sea level or as high as 3600 MSL.. I just live with it.
